What the extension does

Volume Master controls the audio volume of browser tabs. It connects to the Web Audio API of websites you visit to boost or reduce volume beyond the system limit.

Data we collect

None. The extension collects no data of any kind.

• No browsing history
• No page content
• No personal information
• No usage analytics or telemetry
• No crash reports sent externally

Local storage only

The only data the extension stores is your volume preference per website (e.g. "YouTube → 200%"). This is saved to chrome.storage.local — a private storage area on your own device. It never leaves your browser and is never transmitted anywhere.

Permissions explained

• Access to all websites — needed to connect to the audio pipeline of any page you want to control. The extension reads no page content; it only hooks into the audio stream.
• Tabs — needed to list open tabs that are playing audio and allow you to switch between them from the popup.
• Storage — needed to remember your volume setting per website so it can be restored automatically on your next visit.
• Scripting — needed to inject the audio control script into a page when you open the popup.

Third parties

Volume Master does not use any third-party services, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or external APIs. No data is shared with any third party because no data is collected in the first place.

Children's privacy

The extension does not collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
